How Was The 10th Grade? My name is Ta'Naizha Willis I am 16 years old and I am a Sophomore at TechBoston Academy. Three words that would describe me is Social-able, a Leader, and Charismatic. I love to make new friends, I set good examples for others and little kids around me and i inspire devotion and other people. Outside of school I have an overabundance amount of hobbies. My three favorite hobbies are cooking, doing all types of hair, and hanging out with my three year old sister. This year in TechBoston I played three different sports, I played Basketball, Softball, and Volleyball. I have been playing Volleyball for two years, and I played Basketball and Softball for the first time this year and I loved it. In my life almost everything is valuable to me. One thing that is I value the most is my mother. I value my mother the most because if it wasn't for her, I would be here to today . Out of my life and everything in it, one person i appreciate a lot is my three year old sister. I appreciate her because she is the reason why I push harder in school and in life everyday to succeed in the future. My greatest dream is to be a Registered Nurse, because I love to work and take care of old people and children. My biggest fear is becoming a huge failure in life because if i fail i will let my teachers, family, friends and especially myself down. The person i admire the most is my step-dad. i admire my step-dad the most because he gives good advice, he guides me through school and life by telling me what right or wrong and whats good and whats not, and he also helps me with the things that i need and i feel that he is a good role model for my little sisters and my self. What distinguishes myself from others is the amount of confidence that I have. I am very confident in anything I do, whether its sports, in my community or even when it comes to my school work. When I came back to TechBoston this year I matured as a student and a person. My attitude was bad and I have turned it around completely because i knew that with the type of attitude that i had and came off to people with i knew that i wasn't going to make it far in life. The personal accomplishments i am proud of is passing Geometry class. When I was told that I had Mr. Barfus at the begging of the school I thought to myself "oh god" because the sophomores that are now juniors that had Mr. Barfus told me he was hard and that I wouldn't pass the class. I actually seemed to like the class, I got along with Mr. Barfus and even though I struggled in some area's of the work he gave us, I pulled through and ended up having fun in his class. The biggest challenge that I have overcame was joining the Basketball team. Joining the Basketball team was a challenge to me because, I didn't know how to play and I thought people would laugh and make fun of me instead of helping me but it was the total opposite. When we had a Basketball game I was very scared to play because I thought people in the audience would laugh, but I thought to myself "who cares what people say as long as you keep trying you will get better and then no one will have nothing to say" and that's how I overcame my fear of playing in the Basketball games. Learning from my Basketball experience I learned for the future don't worry about what others think because while there laughing at you, you will get better and the ones that were laughing at you won't. The challenges that I foresee in the future at TBA is harder courses. The resources i would use would be the prior juniors that will be seniors to question them on how the class was and how should I be prepared for it. The way I would prepare myself for the harder courses next year will be to walk in with a positive attitude and be ready to work and learn. I would hope to remember my teachers and classmates as the people who help me succeed in life and the people that helped and pushed me as I as I can to graduate. The advice I would give the students entering the 10th grade would be " take it seriously don't play around , you only have two years left go hard and don't let anyone tell you that you cant do it because you can".
